FSA, HRA, HSA reimbursement now available for OTC drugs, feminine hygiene products
Prescriptions for over-the-counter medicine are no longer needed to obtain reimbursement from flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) and health savings accounts (HSAs). In addition, feminine hygiene products were added to the list of eligible expenses.
These changes, which became effective for eligible purchases made on or after Jan. 1, 2020, were included in The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, which became law on March 27, 2020.
